Walkthrough

Get Junior is a main quest in Novigrad. This quest is the key to finding out where Dandelion is and what happened to Ciri while she was in Novigrad. It all starts out by taking a bath.

Head to the bathhouses where three men are meeting. These three, Sigi Reuven, Cleaver, and the King of Beggars, are out to get their former co-worker, Whoreson Junior. When you arrive, put on a towel and follow Happen to the back where the trio is. Open the door and chat. Not for long though, as a wave of assassins have entered the bathhouse after the trio. Help kill the assassins in order to continue talking to the men.

After you've killed the assassins, Cleaver will go on about his plan to get Junior out of hiding with force and storms off. Get dressed and go talk to Reuven in his office. Talk about Junior’s three main places throughout the city: his gambling den, his illegal fighting pits, and his home. Make sure to bring up Dandelion too. Talking about the lute player will start another main quest titled “Count Reuven’s Treasure,” which is advised to be tackled later. It’s smart to have it sued up and ready though. After the tour in the secret cellar, climb out and reselect “Get Junior” as your quest.

Leave the bathhouses and open up your map. There are three way points on the map for Junior’s possible whereabouts. Click on the northern way point on the island. It is the furtherest away, but doesn’t involve the side questThe Gangs of Novigrad,” which revolves around the other two locations—the fighting pits and the gambling ring. The north way point is Junior’s house.

When you arrive, Cleaver’s men have already ransacked the place. Use your Witcher Senses to inspect the place for scattered papers, clothing, and equipment. When you realize there is nothing here, leave the house and open up the quests menu. Go to side quests and select “The Gangs of Novigrad.”

This side quest is directly involved with checking out Whoreson’s two businesses in town. You team up with Cleaver’s dwarves and force your way into the establishments. You will be rewarded with crowns for this quest. It is only accessible during “Get Junior.”

Go speak to Cleaver and agree to the plan of forcing Junior out with violence. Now, when you go to either the gambling ring or fighting pits, Cleaver’s dwarves will be close by to help out. Keep the side quest selected and follow the marker to the dwarves outside the casino first. Chat with them when you arrive and make your way in. Make sure to be fully healed and stocked with food before going in to fight the men. You will fight men on each floor, so take the time to heal between floors and also to consume food during the fight to not affect your toxicity levels. Swich between Igni and Quen as you fight the men on the different floors. Potions like Swallow and Thunderbolt can always be useful.

Note - If you decided against using the dwarves and are trying to avoid violence all together, you may play three games of Gwent inside the casino. Do not mention Whoreson or be mean in any conversation, cause if you do, a fight will break out sooner than it should. When you best three players, you’ll be taken upstairs. A fight will break out where they try to torture you, so it is probably best to take the dwarves help, instead of the three games of Gwent.

When the building is clear, go all the way to the top to find a dwarf tied and beaten. His name is Rico and he can help you out if you untie him. Talk to him and let him go. This opens up a side quest called “Honor Among Thieves,” which is super simple. Leave the casino and head to the Putrid Grove to find the King of Beggars. He gives you a nice silver sword for freeing his man. Side quest complete! Leave the Putrid Grove and select “The Gangs of Novigrad” again to see where the dwarves are waiting outside the fighting pits. Join up and head inside to kill all of Whoreson’s men.

Note - If you decided against using the dwarves, you could enter the pits with 100 crowns, by finding a certificate on a corpse near the arena and declaring you are Zdenek to the guards, or by using Axii. Inside you can enter the pits and fight seven rounds. In the end it does result in the dwarves showing up anyway. It is best to take their help from the get go.

The fight inside the pits is the same as the casino. Fight men in each room, casting the same signs and potions until they are all dead. When the last guard has fallen, check their bodies to find a key. The key unlocks a box near a throne-like chair at the end of the hall you came down. Open it up for a letter which you need to read in the menu. Head back down the hall and go through the door on the left. Follow the path down to a room that seems like it is a dead end.

Use your Witcher Senses to see markings on the ground indicating a secret door. Interact with the torch on the right to open it up. Inside are some crowns and a mysterious letter. This letter talks about King Radovid’s disappointment in Junior’s ability to handle the other members of “the Big Four.” Take this information back to Reuven in the bathhouses to see if he knows anyone close to the king.

Note - Before seeing Reuven, make sure to go back to Cleaver to complete the side quest “The Gangs of Novigrad.” If you do not see him before going off to see the king, the quest will fail and you will get no reward.

Turns out that Reuven knows someone that could help you out with the king. Your old pal Vernon Roche is just on the outskirts of Oxenfurt. Hop on Roach and ride out to see him. When you arrive at their little cave, a guard will try and stop you. Chat with him or use Axii, soon Vernon will wave you in.

Note - If you selected Iorveth’s side in The Witcher 2, either on your PC save or during the quest “Imperial Audience,” the guard will challenge you to a fight. After that, you may go see Vernon.

Have a short chat with Vernon and then ride off with him to see the king. It’s not too long a horse ride. King Radovid seems to be off his rocker a bit during your chat with him. Answer however you would like. Vernon will chime in to remind the king why you are there. King Radovid shares where Junior is, with the catch that he will need your help at some point. Leave the king and head to Junior’s hiding spot.

At the gates, the guards recognize you and the scene turns violent. Kill them and take the key off their personnel. Open the gate to the property and take out all of Junior’s men inside the courtyard. From there, go inside the main building and kill the few men inside. With all the men dead, head up the stairs to see the horrific things Junior has been up to.

After a little persuasion, Junior talks about his encounter with Ciri. This is the main quest “Ciri’s Story: Visiting Junior.” It is not very long. After his tale ends, you decide whether or not to kill Junior. When you decide his fate, leave his house to be approached by King Radovid's men. He's calling in his favor now. Go to his boat and talk to him. After your conversation about Phillipa, leave the boat and go see Priscilla to wrap up the quest about Junior.
